TAMPA-HILLSBOROUGH ACTION PLAN, INC.
OUR HISTORY
By working together with elected officials, city and state agencies, corporations, nonprofit organizations, churches and community leaders in Tampa and Hillsborough County, Florida, Tampa-Hillsborough Action Plan, Incorporated has consistently assisted black citizens with social equity solutions since our founding in 1987. Through our charitable mission, THAP has assisted more than 12,000 struggling Black community members with improved life outcomes, provided knowledge and resources to expand business opportunities, and provided access to affordable medical treatment.
Mr. James A. Hammond* was THAP's Chief Visionary Officer joined by an Inaugural group of Founders and Board Members. These Board Members included: Mr. Robert Scott*, Mr. Robert L. Cole, Sr., Mr. Monroe Mack*, Rev. Louis Jones, Mr. Robert M. Shipp, and Dr. Earl Lennard
THAP has partnered with and supported other nonprofit organizations which allowed us to expand the services we have been able to provide. These partnerships have been pivotal in allowing us to expand our healthcare services to provide HIV and STI testing and subsequent access to treatment based on testing results. We have also provided prescription and co-pay assistance and related linkage to services that ensure no one goes without healthcare.
In support of building a better housing infrastructure, THAP expanded its real estate services by not only providing affordable housing. THAP has provided home buyer classes and home repair services for low to moderate income families and senior citizens through partnerships. These partnerships also enabled THAP to provide economic development services to assist Black entrepreneurs with trainings and classes to develop business skills and planning strategies to ensure businesses succeed.

Tampa-Hillsborough Action Plan (THAPgroup)
Tampa-Hillsborough Action Plan, Inc. is a collective group of service providers that enhance the well-being, sustainability, and economic development of Tampa-Hillsborough County, West Central Florida, and Florida residents. THAPgroup provides affordable programs and solutions that serve low to moderate income minorities struggling due to job loss, living in a disadvantaged community, or other negative economic impact.
Our Vision
THAPgroup envisions a world where barriers are replaced with solutions, and THAP is an architect of opportunities that build a lasting way forward, change, and generational stability for struggling minorities in Tampa-Hillsborough County, West Central Florida, Florida, and the world.
